I would have recommend FF13 but I feel you won't get the good ole FF experience if you start there. If you're interested into Final Fantasy as a series then there's multiple point where you can get into it depending on whether you're tolerant of older graphics or even straight out 2D/Sprite.įor instance, FF12 is probably one of the "most modern Final Fantasy" that you can experience if you want to stay in the modern era without giving up too much on graphics. FF7R tries to put together too many system into a single game. It's pretty good for what it is.īut I have to say that it's supposedly a "remake" of FF7 but having played ~10 hours so I feel it's straying a little too far from actually remaking the game and I'm feeling it's a completely new game that takes its root in FF7. If you want to experience a decent game overall then sure, go for it. This FF game (aka FF7R) is definitely a great game in itself. So, while the others are outright replying to this as "Yes", I'd like to offer a little more nuanced reply.
